The song we are using is called “12th Street Rag” by Fats Waller. Here’s what I found on Wikipedia.

Fats Waller (born Thomas Wright Waller on May 21, 1904, died December 15, 1943) was an American jazz pianist, organist, composer and comedic entertainer.

A skilled pianist — widely recognized as a master of stride piano — Waller was one of the most popular performers of his era, finding critical and commercial success in his homeland and in Europe. Waller was also a prolific songwriter, with many songs he wrote or co-wrote still known to modern audiences, such as “Honeysuckle Rose”, “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and “Squeeze Me”.

The song for Lindy Revue is Look-A-There by Slim and Slam

The song we are using is called “Look-A-There” by Slim and Slam. Here’s what I found on Wikipedia.

Slim & Slam was a 1930s musical partnership formed by Bulee “Slim” Gaillard (vocals, guitar and piano) and Leroy Elliott “Slam” Stewart (bass). They produced novelty jazz numbers featuring Slim’s distinctive vocal style with vocalese and scats, hipster argot and nonce words.

Their biggest hits were “Flat Fleet Floogie (with a Floy Floy)”, “Cement Mixer (Puti Puti)” and “The Groove Juice Special (Opera in Vout)”.

You can find the song on the album Slim Gaillard Chronological Classics 1937-1938. Actually, if you’re considering buying an album, get the Complete Columbia Master Takes on Amazon.ca for best value. It has all the best songs to dance to, like “Jump Session” and “Tutti-Frutti”.
